Madonna Faced With Legal Challenge Over Malawi Adoption

Posted At: 08:00:00 AM | Posted By: Admin

Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie will face a legal challenge over their Malawi adoption due to a ruling today by a Malawi judge. Sixty-seven known activist groups spoke up in protest last month and continue to argue their side in the matter of baby David's adoption. The judge representing the Malawi courts has called the groups "friends of the courts" according to Times Online. The groups are claiming that the couple speed up their adoption process using their vast wealth and should not be accepted due to written law in Malawi.

The piece to this adoption story that many people appear to be missing is that baby David is in a much better environment now than he ever would have been in Malawi. Yohane Banda, David's father, has repeatedly asked reporters and activist groups to leave the pop star and his son alone. He fears that the negative publicity and legal challenges will cause his son to have to return to the poverty stricken country of Malawi. It would be in the best interest of the child to complete the adoption.
